Byjyon

Byjyon means “rubbish tip” in Cornish. The concept behind this project was to show how we often look past the pollution in our local area. Travelling the length of the River Cober in Helston, Cornwall Tortie and another local photographer Allister George used lockdown 1.0 to explore how rubbish pollution was effecting the waterway. Taking inspiration from Ansel Adams Yosemite series the aim was to create visually stunning images that at first glance were just that. Yet once the ‘rubbish’ is spotted the eye is only drawn to that ruining the image.
